It’s awards time in college football. Last Wednesday evening Coach Kelly was announced as the Home Depot Coach of the Year. This is his third time winning the award. Coach Kelly won the award once while in Cincinnati, and now twice at Notre Dame (2012 and 2018). While Drue Tranquill won the Wueffel Trophy for community service. While Julian Love was a finalist for the Paycom Jim Thorpe Award, he was named to the Walter Camp First Team Defense on December 6th. Nic Weishar was named Allstate AFCA Good Works Team Captain.
The backdrop for the Echoes 18 awards banquet was the DeBartolo Performing Arts Center. Friday evening was about celebrating the 2018 Seniors, Grad students and the magical season of the Notre Dame Football team. There was no shortage of awards to pass out. There are 19 as a matter of fact. Culminating with MVP of the year. The emcee for the evenings festivities was former Notre Dame Offensive Tackle Aaron Taylor. While at Notre Dame he was a two-time concensus First Team All-American in 1992 and 1993. Aaron is a Super Bowl Champion. Aaron was a member of the 1996 Green Bay Packers.

Putting A Bow on the ND Echoes 18 Awards
Despite all the individual awards given out on Friday night, These guys definitely know the definition of the word team. They hang out together, eat together and they all love the University of Notre Dame. I have never seen a group that is so bought into the process. Their one game at a time approach, their humbleness off the field, and their continual want to do better, are the characteristics you find in champions. This team is so hungry to prove the doubters wrong. The best part is, they don’t care what the doubters think.
