Prior to the Senior Bowl on Saturday, the players go through a weigh in and measurement and then it is onto the practice sessions. One of the sessions during the week was testing the speed of the players. Pride and Gilman rounded out the top four while Claypool was fastest for the North. ND placed three of the top 5 in the speed category. Those are numbers that Coach Kelly and his coordinators can be proud of.

When playing on a team of stars, it’s about waiting your time and making your moment. Troy’s moment came in the third quarter. When Steven Montez is under pressure tries to get rid of the ball. The ball sails into Pride’s arms and returns the ball for 33 yards to the South’s 10 yard line. Pride also was back for kick returns on the day as well. Pride also finished with 1.5 tackles.

Jalen Elliott
Jalen Elliott finished the Reese’s Senior Bowl with two tackles. As stated above, Jalen was voted DB of the week by his peers.

Chase Claypool
Chase Claypool had an interesting day at Wide Receiver. He must have felt like he was back in the beginning of the 2019 season. The coverage on him when he was on the field was tight. The defense made a big mistake in the third quarter. Lining up on the right side of the field, Claypool splits the cornerback and safety, runs up and then right to the corner of the endzone for one yard touchdown pass from Anthony Gordon. After the touchdown, Claypool gives the football a super spike and a loud outburst after he finally got what he was looking for. Claypool had two catches on the day, for six yards and a long of five.
