ND HOCKEY: Don’t Put Those Skates Away Just Yet

Sunday evening there was breaking news in college hockey. The ECAC Champions, St. Lawrence University had to withdraw from the NCAA Hockey tournament after their Head Coach Brent Brekke tested positive for COVID-19. The announcement was made just prior to the tournament seedings release on ESPNU. The two teams that where pulled up from the bubble were Omaha and Notre Dame.

This will be Notre Dame’s fifth consecutive trip to the NCAA Hockey Tournament. The Fightin’ Irish will take the number one seed Boston College in the Albany Region, the bracket link is here. The B1G Conference has a huge showing this year in the NCAA Frozen Four Tournament. Minnesota a number one seed, Wisconsin a number one seed, Michigan a number two seed, and Notre Dame a four seed. The B1G Conference is a no joke college hockey conference.

Boston College comes into the NCAA Frozen Four Tournament with a 17-5-1, they also won the Hockey East tournament. BC is a rival in the fact the the Fightin’ Irish were in the Hockey East for four seasons before their transition to the B1G Conference in 2017.

The Fightin’ Irish will be the visiting team in the region. The road has been a better place this season. They were definitely the “road warriors” this season. The Irish will play Boston College on Saturday at 1 PM EST. There has not been any announcement of television coverage as of yet. Shake Down The Thunder Sports will a preview later this week.

Cheers and Go Irish!☘🏒🚨🌩
