Where do you start after that performance? There was performances by all that deserve to be talked in the blitz. But the Seniors played a big role in this game. Between Alize’ Mack, Brandon Wimbush, Dexter Williams, Te’Von Coney and Chris Finke this is the stuff Hollywood typically scripts.
I cannot forget the 12th Man. The folks in the stands sat through the third coldest game at Notre Dame since 1980. The kick-off temperature was 27 degrees. That is just an incredibly cold number. A majority of the fans stayed and watched this game go final. You can’t be upset with someone leaving a game that is this cold and your team is up a bunch of points.
Alize’ Mack
Alize’ Mack-3-4 for 29 yards, caught his second and third TDs. 21 of his 29 yards were on TD receptions. Alize’ was also given the game ball by Coach Kelly.
Brandon Wimbush
Brandon Wimbush-What can you say about him. He has been an awesome teammate and waited to be called on. Tonight he knew it was his night. Starting on Senior Night and leading his team to a victory is the stuff Hollywood likes to write. Brandon came out running from the tunnel to his parents when he was called out for his curtain call before the game. Though he had a couple INT’s, really no harm, no foul in the games result. Brandon was 12-25 for 130 yards, 3 TD passes, 2 INT’s, 68 yards rushing and a QB rating of 115.3.
Dexter Williams
Dexter Williams-Wow, talk about fresh legs. Coach alluded to that in the post game conference. 202 yards on 20 attempts, long of 58, and two rushing TD’s. Dexter is humbled in the aspect that his team has stood behind him during his four game absence and even more so now that he is back running the rock.
Te’Von Coney
Coach Kelly talked about Te’Von being named team captain for the coin toss late this past week. Coach also talked about how Te’Von performed at another level after finding out he was going to represent the team at the coin toss. His play on the field spoke to that as well. Te’von had 7 tackles, six of which were solo. That is a tremendous performance.
Chris Finke
Let’s start with Finke in the third quarter. Finke appeared to have been stopped on the return, he runs the opposite direction and ends up with a 28 yard return. Finke was very elusive in his escape act. He also led all receivers with 59 yards with a long of 21 yards on 7 targets.

Goal Line
Each Senior stepped up in their own way. The one thing this team has is a love for one another. That is an important ingredient if you are looking for a team to be successful. The guys are all talking the same language and not casting blame on each other as mentioned by Drue Tranquill in the post game press conference.
Thank you Seniors for a memorable season to date. There is more to come if this team keeps up this type of play. The end game is theirs to win. All that remains is how much more can they weather.
